Basic Blackjack Brief Overview

Basic Blackjack is played with 8 standard decks of 52 cards. The main rule of the game is to get more points than the dealer gets without overpassing 21. The cards are shuffled before each hand. At the very beginning of the round you are dealt with 2 cards face up while the dealer is dealt with one card face up and one card face down. Cards from 2 to 10 are equal their face value, any face card (Jack, Queen and King) is equal 10 points, Ace can be counted as 1 point or as 11 points depending on which makes a better hand.

You win on condition that you have Blackjack – the highest winning combination consisting of Ace and a card equal 10 points. You can also win if your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer’s hand and doesn’t exceed 21. You have advantage if the dealer bust.

You can choose among following chip denominations such as $1.00, $5.00, $25.00 and $100. The minimum bet is 1.00, the maximum one is $250.

Blackjack pays 3 to 2
Insurance pays 2 to 1

Basic Blackjack Rules and Strategy

In Basic Blackjack dealer hits on 16 or less, on soft 17 or less. The dealer stands on strong 17 or more and on soft 18 or more. This kind of Blackjack offers you such options as Double, Split and Insurance. Please take into account that these options require additional bet, so you will need to deposit more money if your balance isn’t enough for using these actions.

Double

In Basic Blackjack you can Double when you are sure that the next card will allow you to win. The best way to win is to double down on ten or eleven when the dealer has a break card showing. Note that you won’t have chance to get additional card on your hand after doubling.

Split

If two first cards dealt have the same point value, you can split them. Place additional bet on each hand and keep on hitting. You can receive only one card on each hand if you split Aces. Split low pairs like two, threes or sixes if the dealer is showing a high card. Never split face cards when the dealer is showing a high card.

Insurance

Insurance is offered when the dealer has an Ace. The main idea of this additional feature is that you are betting that the dealer has Blackjack. Don’t forget that this option is worth half amount of your initial bet. If the dealer has Blackjack, you get back your insurance bet and you lose it, if the dealer doesn’t have Blackjack.
